The restoration of the former Harding Theater consisted of inserting a new use into the 1926 former movie palace. The auditorium and balcony space was converted into The Emporium SF, a game arcade and bar. The remaining original details were restored. The sloping theater floors were leveled with a series of terraces on both the balcony and main floor. The existing proscenium, stage and fly loft was opened to the main space after being closed off when the building was most recently used as a church the last 45 years.
